"It is with great joy that I write this letter to you.

I am a girl aged 15 years old. Am a form one student (freshman). I did the Kenya certificate of primary examination (KCPE) in the year 2019 and passed with flying colors.

Particularly I need to say that we break out of the school because of the covid-19 pandemic. And now it is a challenge to every and each person. Now this pandemic has led the schools to re-open next year since the victims of covid-19 are increasing at a very high level in the world. It is menacing. 

The Solar-Radio (donated by Dignity4Girls) teaches us good things that encourages us. The programs teach how to care for ourselves, stay home, have respect to everybody and help our parents in some daily activities.

I usually wake at dawn in order to take to my studies. I like doing English as my best subject. I like reading novels. The subject that is hard for me is Mathematics. When I finish I do my chore work and make sure everything is perfect.

Now, we as girls we have a big challenge that cannot be compared to anybody… it is a challenge that to our utter surprise, since this pandemic started, early marriages and pregnancies (have) begun to increase.  The government is doing their best to ban the (FGM) female genital mutilation because it affects us. So, we should care well for ourselves and wait for the school to be re-opened."
